We are currently recruiting a dedicated Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a friendly young woman in her early 30s who lives in Clacton.
This lady has cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and is a non-verbal wheelchair user, and requires consistent, patient, and compassionate support to live a happy and fulfilling life.
She particularly enjoys spending time outdoors, being pushed in her wheelchair, and getting fresh air – so enjoying the outdoors is an important part of this role.
This position offers the opportunity to build a meaningful and consistent support relationship, helping her maintain comfort, wellbeing, and independence.

As a Support Worker, your role will focus on helping this young lady live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life.
You will provide both physical and emotional support, ensuring her care plan is followed carefully to maintain her comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
Consistency is very important in this role, so we are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, and attentive to detail.
Support with personal care and daily routines
Assist with meal preparation and dietary requirements
Provide emotional reassurance and companionship
Respect her individuality and personal preferences
Her care plan includes specific guidelines around physical care and food intolerances, which must be followed carefully to avoid discomfort.
This includes:
Following care plans accurately
Monitoring wellbeing
Recording support provided
Reporting concerns when necessary
A key part of this role is helping her enjoy time outdoors and access the community.
This may include:
Walks in her wheelchair around local parks
Shopping trips
Community activities
Social outings
You may also accompany her to appointments, hospital visits, or occasional holidays.
You will also support with:
Administering medication following protocols
Monitoring health and wellbeing
Ensuring she remains comfortable and pain-free
Support in keeping the home:
Clean and organised
Accessible and safe
Comfortable and welcoming
Enjoys supporting people with physical disabilities
Is happy to spend time outdoors in all weather
Is patient and comfortable supporting non-verbal communication
Values consistency and routine in care
Wants to build a long-term supportive relationship

You should demonstrate:

Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
Supporting individuals with physical disabilities
Supporting wheelchair users

Experience in health and social care
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
Full UK Driving Licence – desirable

In addition to the benefits outlined above, CFT Care Ltd will cover the cost of your DBS check and will pay your hourly rate for attendance at any required pre-employment training. Payment for training will be made following the commencement of your full-time role
